Rise of the Kilo

Pretty much sums up what's been going on between the scales and I.
I have been eating sooo much lately, it's scary! Can't say I have any regrets though, after all eating is mandatory. And it being RECESS week? It's a calling.
And at my record-breaking kilo rise ever (not kidding!), guess where we went for dinner today? A lounge called Kilo! The feeling of acceptance was real.
Seriously though, the atmosphere was amazing. The music was good, the staff were super friendly, it felt like I was coming to a vintage party rather than to dinner. Interestingly, the lounge wasn't air-conditioned, so it really gave off a cool homely feel - so much so that half the time I had to remind myself to sit properly (the tables were transparent glass, so sitting like a man wasn't such a good idea).

But all that just didn't matter anymore because when the food arrived... Oh my goodness.
(I shall just disclaim here that the pictures you're about to see are really just 10x less seductive that the real thing. Sorry lah I love taking photos but I just suck at it.)
That there is a plate of raw fish, crab and tempura sushi roll. One of my favourite dishes there! It was slightly sweet from the raw seafood and rice, yet also a tang of saltiness and crisp from the tempura. So amazing :')

And then came the soft shelled crab drizzled in thai curry sauce. MMMM! Though I have to say I prefer my soft shelled crabs more soft than crispy. But still, the novel combination really did spiked my taste buds!

So my mum got a little impatient at this point because my sister and I spent too much time snapping photos of our food rather than eating them (Or maybe just me, because I take so long to find the less-wrong angle for my photo.) But she'll thank me later! Because this happens to be my mum's favourite dish of the night, and she'll remember it because of me haha.
This is the squid ink rice with fried squid. You'll have to order this if you ever come here one day! It really is something different and worth a try :)

I actually really liked this dish! The spicy tomyum beans paired really well with the sweet pork. Like everything else on the menu, this is such a unique dish I fell in love instantly.

Ok, so I've been saving the best for last xD This is my ultimate favourite!!! (It seems like I have a lot of favourites here, but this is really at the top of my list.) CAPELLINI IN LIGHT CREAM, SMELT ROE AND SAUTÉED PRAWNS. In great detail here because you really have to imagine the heaven I tasted in this bowl. Not a fan of creamy pastas, but this really is the best pasta I have ever had in my life! The prawns were juicy and fresh, the roe just a slight sweet addition to the smooth creamy texture of the entire dish. I died, it was so good :')

And ofcourse, dessert! Green tea churros and a block of torched marshmellow yum.

Precisely because my photography sucks, I didn't manage to capture the awesomeness of this Thai Milk Tea custard pudding. This has got to be one of the most impressive desserts I have ever had.
I feel like I've said too many "best"s and "ever"s in this post so far, but really it deserves nothing less. This dessert was a whole plate of milk-tea goodness, smooth and soft till the very last mouth! Great for people like me who's too lazy to chew after the mains.
All in all, I am utterly stuffed and satisfied after tonight's awesome meal. If I could, I would most definitely go back everyday. But obviously I can't. And obviously I have to stop gaining weight.
