Roses are Red,

Violets are Blue,

She walks among the flowers,

Her skin their sweet dew.

A fondled sigh,

Gentle caress,

They sing to her

A soundless solace.

Under the moonlight

Glitters her face,

The salts of soft reminiscence

That blurs her gaze.

But she shone like no other,

Her beauty the endless sea;

Her wrinkles an autumn’s crease,

Age graced like Burgundy.

She dances among the flowers,

Her heart filled Spring;

Light grazes and kisses,

For her, the flowers sing:

“Red is for Roses,

Blue the lover’s hue –

When daylight comes

Remember, you’re Beautiful.”
