In the kingdom where children rule the day –
They rule among the gardens where they play.
Laughter sings the anthem, giggles pledge;
Of crumpled cloth their flag – a game of catch.
Sunny days of fields they rule with gambol;
Grassy pillows blanket their soft petal.
Rainy days the mud they squish their boot;
Splashing puddles, laughing pitches hoot.
Every sadness, infectious like a yawn;
But cherished joy, excitement yields each dawn.
The other side the vines are climbed, they swing –
For that's the kingdom where the children are King.
